MICRO POETRY

Inherent resilience

A matrix of oodles of tissues
elbowed, banished by stems
resilient, enduring seasons
assaults of paws and beaks
jabs, stabs of positive stress
compressed like wise thoughts
sucking up bitter of tannins
hiding gush of resinous vitality
cocoon of pulsating life sap
sealing marrow’s perpetuity
granulated, spent yet buoyant
barks environ the greens to
rhyme with cosmic sublimity.

A poem

Art by the writer

A labyrinth of fibrils
puckered in alchemy
sewing up tapestry of
buoyant, aqueous eyes
beaming inflated lips
voice spraying blooms
silky, wooly spools of
childhood flying kites,
unreeling vivid youth
dyed in ignited hues,
then dotage weaving
surreal cobwebs,
a lightning struck
blood red mayhem
brain went berserk
strings, once turgid
now numb, dangling
arrested in ventilator
needles, glass bottles
beeps of empathy
shrouds of healers,
warped consciousness,
inflexible diameters
not letting in oxygen,
deflated lines blink,
atrophied, spent stubs,
limp threads forsaken
soul’s rind peeled off
mass draped in death
to liberate as energy.
